Consultation
The Knowledgecenter Measurement Instruments offers advise and cooperation with:
- finding the best measurement instrument for a given
study;
- designing and performing systematic reviews of
measurement instruments;
- designing and performing studies on the measurement
properties of measurement instruments.
Employees of the Knowledgecenter have ample experience in designing and performing clinimetric studies and developing new methodology in the field of clinimetrics. They have published more than 100 publications, including many publications on methodological issues and (parts of) books.
Researchers can consult the Knowledgecenter Measurement Instruments for questions about:
· identifying the most relevant concepts to measure,
given the research aim of the study
· searching for available measurement instruments
· evaluating the quality of available measurement
instruments
· choosing the most appropriate measurement instrument
for a given study
· designing and performing clinimetric research
· translation of questionnaires
· systematic reviews of measurement instruments
· assessing test-retest reliability and measurement error of
questionnaires
· assessing intra- and interrater reliability and measurement
error of measurement instruments
· assessing content, construct, or criterion validity of
measurement instruments
· assessing the dimensionality (factor structure) and
internal consistency of questionnaires
· assessing responsiveness (the ability to detect change)
· estimating the minimal important change in score on a
measurement instrument
· interpretation of scores on measurement instruments
For researchers in the VU University and VU University Medical Center one consultation is free of charge. For more consultations of long-term cooperation we expect co-authorship or co-promotorship or financial support.
From researchers outside the VU University and VU University Medical Center we expect co-authorship or financial support.
